How to Join

To join the club, you will need to attend a new members talk held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm prior to our club meeting. There will be no new members talks on Wed 17/12/08 or Wed 7/1/09. The normal schedule will resume on Wed 21/1/09.

This is opposite Holt St and 5 minutes walk from Central Station. Entry to the hall is via the passage on the right of the building.

7:00 pm - New Members talk commences
7:30 pm - Meeting commences

All are welcome to get together prior to the meeting in the beer garden of the Royal Exhibition Hotel (corner of Devonshire and Chalmers St) at around 6:30 pm.

Membership

Membership applications / renewals are handled at club meetings. For insurance reasons, you must be a member of the club before you can go on any trips.

There are two categories of membership:

Associate Membership:
When you first join the club, you will need to attend one of the new member's introductory talks. After the talk, you can sign up and become an associate member.

Associate membership lasts for 4 months and costs $20. It allows you to go on trips and to come to club meetings. It is necessary to complete at least 2 trips before you can apply for full membership, or you can re-join as an associate member for a further 4 months. It is the responsibility of each member to ensure their membership is current and valid. No reminders are issued. Associate members cannot vote on club matters, or lead trips without a full member as a co-leader.

Full Membership:
Full membership is $40 per financial year. You may apply for full membership on the appropriate form (available in the 'Members Only' area of this site, or at meetings). Acceptance is not automatic and is at the discretion of the committee.
