Trips Program

Some of the trips on this program are open to Visitors. You may contact the leader of a 'visitors welcome' trip by clicking on the leaders name. This link is only available for trips commencing within the next two months.

We invite prospective members to take the oportunity to experience our activities and meet our members before joining our club. Due to insurance restrictions we can only allow prospective members to participate in a maximum of two trips. To participate in additional trips you must join our club.

All persons participating in our trips must be aged 18 years or older.

Cycle - Road: Nowra Cycling weekend

Come and stay in Nowra on Friday and Saturday nights. We will go for an easy ride on Friday afternoon. And do longer rides on Saturday and Sunday mornings. We will stay in budget accommodation, near the River. Easy access to Nowra by train if desired.

Bushwalk: Glenbrook Creek

We follow Glenbrook Creek for approx 5km. The walk along the creek is usually very warm, however there will be opportunities for 7 or 8 swims to cool off! There is no track for most of the creek and a bit of rock hopping is involved. The going is mostly slow but not too difficult. We also visit the sublime Kanooka Brook.

Bushwalk: Lower Kangaroo Creek

Meet at Heathcote railway station. Walk past Karloo Pool and proceed down Lower Kangaroo Creek to explore other pools. Return to Heathcote station via Bottle Forest fire trail. Involves 4+ km rough track from Karloo Pool, plus a steep scramble up to the fire trail. Excellent pools for swimming.

Bushwalk: Kiama Coast walk

Exercise both yourself and your Opal card on this 20km coastal walk which also boasts some remnant volcanic landscapes. The walk starts at Minnamurra and ends at Werri Beach. but we?ll catch the train home from Gerringong. At 20 October 2017 it doesn?t appear as though there?s any track work planned for the Illawarra line. This walk appears on the both the SPAN program and the CMW program.

Bushwalk: Erskine Creek Explorer

Following an excellent swim and walk down Erskine Creek from Pisgah Rock to Jack Evans Track on Saturday 28 January 2017. The aim of this trip is to swim and walk the remainder of Erskine Creek to where it meets the Nepean River and then return (swim/walk) to the Jack Evans Track. Trip is graded both medium and exploratory.

Canyon near Mt Wilson. 4 or 5 abseils up to 20m and some swimming in the Wollangambie.

Not really an enclosed canyon more of a creek walk with abseils through the cliffline off Kings tableland. 3 or 4 abseils of up to 50m, there is also some scrambling and off track walking.

Bushwalk: Couranga Walking Track

Rogaine: Metrogaine

A metropolitan rogaine (orienteering style event), probably enjoying some beautiful bushland, water views? ?. Spend 6 hours travelling in a team at your own pace, visiting as many checkpoints as you have the time or desire. The navigation shouldn?t be too hard. Swap stories over the meal afterwards. No surfing experience required - you just need to stand in the surf and help people with a disability onto waves and back onto their boards if they fall off. Plenty of fun. And there should be a chance to try riding a few waves yourself. Just turn up around 9 on Saturday morning at Collaroy Beach between the pool and the Surf Club on Saturday morning. www.disabledsurfers.org Grade: Easy to exhausting but exhilarating

Canyon: Newnes Canyoning Weekend

Two days of canyoning, car camping at Newnes on Saturday night. The plan is to do Starlight and Pipeline on alternative days. Possibility of running two trips both days depending on numbers and leader availability. Must have previous abseiling experience.
